Fry-IT boosts my charity fundraising

I'm running Flora London Marathon in few months. To do that I'll need extraordinary physical condition. But it is not enough. I also need to raise some funds for Sense - charity that provided me with Gold Bond (like a ticket for that event).
Last Friday I've received a really nice cheque from Marcus, Fry-IT's "financial director" for £1000.
I've promised to raise £1400 to charity Sense. Now with only £235 left to raise my chances of success are pretty good. I can focus more on training.
I've received many ideas how to raise funds in my runner's pack when I've selected Sense to run for them. Also they are sending me a newsletter every fortnight with fundraising tips: organise dinner for friends or wine and cheese evening, bake some cakes or make lunch for people at work, pack bags in local supermarket ect. I'm not saying they are bad but they were not for me. It would be just to much work and poor results.
So I've coined my own tip: do whatever you are good at. And I did. I gave few advices about Plone to people who contacted me. And I got 3 donations of total £45. Nice, but not good enough. So I've asked Zahid if Fry-IT would like to help me too. The answer was of course: "Yes". Isn't it amazing? So I've asked what can I do in exchange. There was a small project that nobody has time to do. So I've suggested that I can spend few evenings and do it.
This was clearly win-win situation. I've got a lot of money for my charity. I've had to spend few evenings to "earn it". But I would have to do it anyway doing other forms of fundraising. I saved a lot of time. Fry-IT got this project done and it was top quality. So I was happy that project will not return to me to do bug fixes, which sometimes happens when we outsource development. Also I've learned some interesting things doing that project.
Everyone is happy. This is how you do it!
